General Information

In order to provide the incoming Mayoral administration with information about the inner workings of City government, the Daley administration developed a transition document with information on each City department. The report includes descriptions of how each department is organized and a summary of the services it provides.

In 1999, a comprehensive review of the Chicago Fire Department was completed. The study contains detailed information on the department’s organizational structure and highlighted potential ways it could improve its operations.
