Lise Valentine

Deputy Inspector General

Lise Valentine is Deputy Inspector General for Audit and Program Review. Prior to joining OIG in December 2011, Valentine served as Vice President and Director of Research at the Civic Federation, a non-partisan governmental research organization. She conducted and led research on government efficiency, transparency and tax policy at the Civic Federation since 2003. She has taught State and Local Public Finance for the Master’s in Public Administration Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Valentine has also served as a trustee of the Governmental Research Association, an elected Commissioner and Treasurer of the Park District of Oak Park and a member of advisory task forces to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. She earned a B.A. in Humanistic Studies from McGill University, M.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University, and a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and a Certified Inspector General Auditor®
